Mycenaes
civilization was the first Hellenic civilization in history. Mycenae
name came from Myceane city which was located in northwest Peloponnese.
Mycenaes civilization started in 1600 B.C. Mycenaes built tombs which
has magnificent beauty and very durable city walls for defending their
cities. Mycenaes were very successful in trade they exported many
artworks especially ceramics which were made by them very beautifully
from places to Sicily from west and from places to Syria from east.
Mycenaes made powerful contact with Minoans whose were living in Crete
and they migrated to Crete after 1400 B.C. Mycenaes took many things
form Minoans. For example they invented Linear B type by using Linear A
type which was a type used by Minoans. Mycenaes built many palaces and
this palaces had a rectangle style structures which was called as
megraon. Mycenae culture spreaded to Thessaly, Ionia until Miletus and
Cyprus.
