The biggest dream killer

It's been over a month since I've posted, I'm taking some time for myself and will be back soon (maybe).

Short story this Sunday. I was reading one of my old conversations and one of my startup friend shared a discussion that happened to him.

He was discussing business with a relative and was explaining his plan to reach 6 figures at some point in his life.

After spending a long time explaining it to him, the only thing his uncle said to him was something like: *"Wouldn't it be easier to do a normal job?"*

If you're looking for reasons to keep your plans secret, the first is because the response you'll get after revealing your plans is this type of reaction.

*And it will vary on a spectrum between, "You're not capable," "It's not for you," "You could be doing something else." "Insert random projection"*

Close your eyes, think for a moment about everyone you know.

How many of them are living up to their expectations?
How many people are living and not surviving?
How many people are truly happy?
How many people are living their dreams?

Almost none because most have forgotten their dreams.
They have settled for a life that is not necessarily the one they dreamed of but in which risk no longer exists.

The human being is afraid of the uncertain. He hates everything that he does not control. He likes to think that he can have a hold on his future. He likes stability and not chaos.

The vast majority of humans function in this way. Their risk aversion is so great that they prefer not to take any risks.

So when you go to discuss your dreams and your plan to escape your condition, they can't understand.

*They bug.* Umm does it sounds like MR robot, lol

You could explain everything to them, show them that the risk is worth taking, they won't resonate with you.

Why won't they? Because they are stuck in Plato's cave.

There's a whole world to explore outside the world they know, but the shadows are too dangerous to venture into.

So they'd rather try to keep you in the cellar than let you discover this new world.

Safety is the cellar, and getting out of it would challenge their own life choices.

Dreams are fantastically powerful balls of energy but very fragile.

The doubts of others can crack it.

Each new crack is a risk, that the energy leaves before you could use it.

Keep this energy sacred to yourself.
Don't share it with people who don't have the same frontiers.
You want to explore the world.
They want to convince you to stay in the basement.

Most dreams die because they are shared with the wrong people.
